Of course you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but I absolutely love the hardcover jacket for The Dogs of Littlefield by Suzanne Berne.
Unfortunately, the story seems to be a rather dark comedy about dogs being poisoned in suburbia — think American Beauty meets My Dog Skip — and we all know what happened to those lead characters…
However, looking on the bright side, if this novel’s writing is as clever as the cover, then I’m sure all readers will be feeling the Berne! (Amazon)

One of the undisputed champions of dog books is W. Bruce Cameron, author of the best-selling A Dog’s Purpose and A Dog’s Journey –– and it looks like the big dog is back with The Dog Master. Although this historical novel strays from the trail of Cameron’s past canine tales as it details the extraordinary bond between a man and a wolf (the first dog), I’m sure his new story will stand the test of time…even if dogs supposedly can’t tell time! (Amazon)
Best-selling USA Today author, Meg Donohue, has a new novel out this week called Dog Crazy, which I’m sure any dog lover will be absolutely nuts about!
And even better, she’s holding a book launch party at Books Inc. to benefit San Francisco-based Grateful Dogs Rescue tomorrow night on March 12. However, if you can’t make it to the event in person, you can always take a trip to Amazon to get your next dog book fix on! (Books Inc.)
