Of course you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but I absolutely love the hardcover jacket for The Dogs of Littlefield by Suzanne Berne.

Unfortunately, the story seems to be a rather dark comedy about dogs being poisoned in suburbia — think American Beauty meets My Dog Skip — and we all know what happened to those lead characters…

However, looking on the bright side, if this novel’s writing is as clever as the cover, then I’m sure all readers will be feeling the Berne! (Amazon)
