A Son Moves Out and Gets Replaced By Family Dog?

I caught this pic on BuzzFeed a couple weeks ago — and it still cracks me up (It was #16 on a post titled “23 Parents Who Are Funnier Than Their Kids”). Apparently, a young man recently moved out of his parents house, but Mom and Dad didn’t waste too much time replacing his pic on the family’s wall of fame…(originally posted on Reddit)

White God: If #Dogs Were #Zombies Movie?

There’s a new Hungarian dog flick out now called White God — but this is more than just your average dog movie. The foreign film chews on much bigger social/political issues as you can see in the trailer below…

You Can’t Judge A Book By Its Cover…or Can You?

Somebody on the Internet has compiled a Tumblr blog of the most unintentionally — or maybe intentionally — hilarious self-published ebook covers that have appeared on Amazon. And what surprised me was that a disproportionate amount of these tomes seem to be animal books!

That said, I did have some trepidation about posting this since the article could be construed as book cover shaming — and I know how hard it is to write and publish a book. However, then I figured, as they say in showbiz, any publicity is good publicity! (BI)

Anybody who rescues a dog assumes the responsibility of taking care of and loving that dog — and providing its fairytale “forever home”. But what happens if the new dog just doesn’t fit in with the other dogs in the household, no matter how hard you try?

18artsbeat-seuss1-blog480A few weeks ago, the literary world discovered some unpublished works from the former home of longtime cat fan, Dr. Seuss. Whether or not the treasure trove was buried in the pantry underneath the stockpile of green eggs and ham, we’ll never know — but on July 28, the first title, What Pet Should I Get? — will be released for all of us animal lovers to adore! Budweiser #Dogs Commercial Wins Super Bowl…Again!

The New England Patriots weren’t the only big winners at this past Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIX — but it appears that Budweiser’s “Lost Dog” commercial scored the title of most popular on USA Today‘s Ad Meter rankings (Bud also won last year’s Super Bowl with their “Lost Puppy” ad). So, just in case you’re not a football fan or weren’t anywhere near a TV this weekend, here’s the replay…

As America gets ready for Super Bowl Sunday — I thought I’d toss up a couple throwback dog tributes written by two of the country’s most popular sportswriters, ESPN’s Bill Simmons (aka The Sports Guy) and Peter King (Sports Illustrated).

Here’s to “Bailey” and “The Dooze” — and, no, it’s not a buddy cop show. FYI: You’ll have to scroll down about halfway through the article to read King’s piece titled “Requiem for A Dog”.
