Hitler’s Talking Dogs?

Historians knew that Hitler loved art — but in a 2011 New York Times column by Maureen Dowd, she discusses Dr. Jan Bondeson’s book, Amazing Dogs, in which he reveals that Hitler once supported a German school to teach large mastiffs to talk to humans. Luckily, it didn’t work — considering Adolf’s atrocious background, I can’t imagine those dogs were treated very well.

Of course, nowadays, everybody knows the world’s most famous canine blabber is Youtube’s Mishka the Talking Dog

Kabang the Snout-less Dog Coming To America

I think it’s safe to say that this is a dog story that you’ve never heard before…

Meet Kabang, a dog from the Phillipines, who got half her snout ripped off after saving two little girls from getting hit by a motorcycle. Kabang — er, Kabang! — is set to arrive at UC Davis in the San Francisco Bay Area to get reconstructive surgery to repair the damage. If that’s the dog’s face, I can’t imagine what the motorcycle looks like! (SFGate)

Who Gets The Dog?

The recent breakup of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, has brought up an even more important topic when it comes to romantic breakups: the dog custody battle. While the young Twilight stars argue over who gets their dog, Bear — even bigger Kramer vs. Kramer-style battles have been waging across this country in recent years, including one man who spent over $60,000 to get sole custody of his pooch.

All this big bucks bickering may seem ridiculous on the surface, but anybody who has ever had a dog knows the true value that a pet brings to the family.
