@arleneweintraub: Can #Dogs Cure Cancer?

Never let a human do a dog’s job…especially when it comes to finding the cure for cancer, says Arlene Weintraub in her new book, Heal: The Vital Role of Dogs in the Search for Cancer Cures. This non-fiction work is a both a scientific study on the huge impact dogs are having in cancer research, as well as a personal story detailing Weintraub’s own dire experiences in dealing with the loss of a loved one to this horrific disease that affects us all. An important read!

“Every love story is a ghost story.” – David Foster Wallace

Laurie Anderson, the well-known performance artist, uses DFW’s words and more in her new deeply personal film about love and loss, as she documents her difficult experiences with losing family members, spouses (Lou Reed), and, of course, her lovely Rat terrier, Lolabelle, in Heart of A Dog.

Miley Cyrus Drops Free #DogLovers Album! #MCandHerDeadPetz

1396802271_miley-cyrus-dog_2Fresh off the VMAs, Miley Cyrus surprised her fans this week by dropping a new FREE album called Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz — which was inspired, I assume, by the loss of her pet dog, Floyd, last year. You can listen to the full album HERE!

After a quick preview, I found “The Floyd Song (Sunrise)”, “Karen Don’t Be Sad”, and “I Get So Scared” to be particularly heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. So twerk that! (photo: US Mag)

However, if you want to just stick with the old school “Wrecking Ball” Miley, then check out the new Seth Rogen trailer for The Night Before, which celebrates Christmas –– and her classic hit as well!

The Master of #Dogs #Books is back!

a dog's purpose w bruce camerona dog's journey book w bruce cameronOne of the undisputed champions of dog books is W. Bruce Cameron, author of the best-selling A Dog’s Purpose and A Dog’s Journey –– and it looks like the big dog is back with The Dog Master. Although this historical novel strays from the trail of Cameron’s past canine tales as it details the extraordinary bond between a man and a wolf (the first dog), I’m sure his new story will stand the test of time…even if dogs supposedly can’t tell time! RIP: Uggie, “The Artist” of #Dogs

Sad news today in the celebrity dog world when word came that Uggie, the lovable Jack Russell terrier in the 2011 film, The Artist, was put to rest this past Friday. He will not only be remembered for his charming presence on the silver screen, but also his “infinite love for chicken and hot dogs”, one of his trainers said. (NY Daily News)
