RIP George Rodrigue aka “The Blue Dog Artist”

All dog lovers are feeling blue today with the passing of George Rodrigue, a real giant in the dog art world, who created the infamous “Blue Dog” paintings. His canine-colored career were also one of the inspirations for my novel, It’s Just A Dog.

Brooke Astor’s Dog Paintings For Sale

Brooke Astor, the New York City socialite-philanthropist who died in 2007, was known for her immense generosity and personality (and deep love for her dachsunds, Boysie and Girlsie) — and this week, Sotheby’s is auctioning off what some consider her most prized possessions: her exquisite collection of dog paintings.
