My Dog Tulip Blooms…
Based on the book by J.R. Ackerley, My Dog Tulip, is a good, not great dog movie — mainly because I felt the storyline spent a little too much time focusing on Tulip’s desire to procreate. Not that I’m a prude by any means, but I digress…
Still, I couldn’t help but admire the film’s elegant, eye-popping animation and use of voice-over by Christopher Plummer — so it’s definitely worth a watch on Netflix.

Rin Tin Tin Deserves An Oscar, too!
Susan Orlean, author of The Orchid Thief (or Adaptation, if you saw the very creatively adapted film by Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman) is pushing for a posthumous Oscar for the subject of her latest book, Rin Tin Tin: The Life and Legend, as it seems that way back in 1929, some ne’er-do-well actor fetched the poor dog’s gold statue all for himself!
