Who said balloon dogs are just for clowns? Pop-artist Jeff Koons’ Balloon Dog (Orange) sculpture — standing 12-feet high and made of stainless steel — sold last night at Christie’s in New York City for a whopping $58,405,000!

Giant George Dies…

Giant George, the world’s tallest dog from 2010 to 2012, has passed away at the age of seven. The gentle, beloved Great Dane was celebrated in Dave Nasser and Lynne Barrett-Lee’s Giant George: Life with the World’s Biggest Dog.

Real Talking Dogs?

I swear I’m not making this up — but Dr. Melody Jackson at Georgia Tech is leading a team of scientists to develop wearable technology to make it possible for dogs to communicate with their owners. And its called Project FIDO: Faciliating Interactions for Dogs with Occupations (I know, it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, does it?)
